Connecting to Studio
When you connect to Glossi Studio, you're establishing a connection to a powerful cloud computer that handles your 3D rendering. Understanding this process can help you make the most of Glossi and troubleshoot any issues that come up.
The Connection Process
Connecting to Glossi Studio is like streaming interactive video — your browser connects to a cloud computer running Unreal Engine, and the rendered output is streamed back to you in real-time while your inputs are sent to the server.
The connection happens in three stages:
Instance Requested — Your browser requests a cloud computer and Glossi finds an available virtual machine. This typically takes between 30 seconds and a few minutes depending on availability.
Studio Paired — A secure WebRTC connection is established between your browser and the cloud computer. Glossi verifies that two-way communication is working properly by running test commands to ensure your inputs can be sent and received correctly.
Studio Online — Your workspace is ready and the studio loads automatically.
Note: Studio uses WebRTC for secure, encrypted connections — the same technology that powers enterprise video conferencing. Your work and data remain private and protected.

Connection Times
Different scenarios affect how quickly you'll connect:
Optimal (30 seconds) — A machine is immediately available and your network is fast.
Standard (1–2 minutes) — Normal allocation and verification time.
Peak usage (up to 7 minutes) — Waiting for machine availability during high-demand periods.
If it takes longer than 10 minutes to connect, try refreshing and reconnecting.
Stream Quality
The quality of your studio stream adjusts based on your internet connection, similar to how video streaming services work. A stronger connection results in a clearer image and more responsive controls.
For the best experience:
Download speeds of at least 15 Mbps and upload speeds of at least 5 Mbps are recommended.
A wired connection provides the most stable experience and best streaming quality, though Wi-Fi works as well.
Troubleshooting
If you're having trouble connecting, try these steps in order:
Wait at least three minutes for the initial connection. Rushing through attempts won't help.
Refresh your browser and try again. Give each attempt adequate time to connect.
Check your setup:
Verify your internet connection is stable
Make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
Close unnecessary browser tabs to free up resources
Clear your browser cache and try connecting in a new tab.
Common Issues
Stuck at "Launching Studio" — Refresh the browser or try logging out and back in.
Blurry or pixelated stream — Check your internet connection speed and stability.
Input lag or stuttering — Switch to a wired connection if on Wi-Fi, and close other bandwidth-heavy applications.
WebRTC blocked — Ensure WebRTC is enabled in your browser settings. Some browser extensions or network firewalls can block WebRTC.
Frequent disconnections — Check your internet stability. Intermittent connections will cause the stream to drop.
If you've tried these steps and are still experiencing issues, reach out to our support team. When you do, it's helpful to include:
Your browser type and version
How many times you've attempted to connect and over what timeframe
What stage the connection gets stuck at (e.g., "Launching Studio", "Verifying Connection")
Any steps you've already tried
