Connecting to Studio
Understanding the process and tech behind studio connections can help you make the most of Glossi and troubleshoot any issues that might come up.
Understanding Studio Connections
When you connect to Glossi Studio, you're not just opening a webpage - you're establishing a connection to a powerful cloud computer that will handle your 3D rendering. This approach eliminates the need for powerful local hardware while maintaining professional-grade performance.
To do this Studio requires a connection to a Virtual Machine:
When you log in, Glossi pairs you with a powerful cloud computer (what's behind studio)
This computer runs an interactive 3D environment (powered by Unreal Engine), hosted on a cloud computer.
After your actions are instantly sent back and forth between the VM and your browser, for a seamless experience on any hardware
🚦 The Connection Process
Think of connecting to Glossi Studio like streaming a movie on Netflix, but with an important difference: it's interactive. Glossi connects to this interactive video stream through two steps.

Launching Studio (30 sec - 3 minutes)
When you first see "Launching Studio" in your workspace, your browser is initiating a connection to a video stream and checking for available virtual machines. This process typically takes between 30 seconds and 3 minutes, as Glossi is finding an available virtual machine for you and establishing a secure connection
Verifying Connection (15-30 sec)
Once the initial connection is established, you'll see "Verifying Connection" as the system confirms that two-way communication is working properly. During this phase, Glossi runs test commands to ensure your inputs can be sent and received correctly. This verification ensures you'll have a smooth experience once you're in the studio.
Studio uses WebRTC for secure, encrypted connections – the same technology that powers enterprise video conferencing platforms. Your work and data remain private and protected.

Notes on Stream Quality
For the best experience with Glossi, you need a stable internet connection.
We recommend download speeds of at least 10 Mbps and upload speeds of at least 5 Mbps.
While Wi-Fi works, a wired connection provides the most stable experience and best streaming quality.
The quality of your stream will adjust based on your internet connection, similar to how video streaming services work. A better connection results in a clearer image and more responsive controls.
If you are experience connection issues, you may see a laggy or pixelated image - including delayed responses, pixelated display. stuttering, input lag. Normally it is the result of one of these three issues, which can be solved with a simple fix.
Connection Failures: Refresh browser or clear cache
Blurry Stream: Check internet connection
WebRTC Blocked: Enable WebRTC in browser
